Here in the United States, home renovations and home remodeling projects are hugely popular. In fact, more than half of all home owners are planning to embark on a home renovation very soon, if they have not begun such a project already. However, there are a number of considerations that must be made before a project of this scale can ever be started, all feeding into the eventual success of the project itself.

The kitchen remodel is particularly common, along with bathroom remodeling as well. In fact, the kitchen remodel and the bathroom remodel represent the two most common remodeling projects seen all throughout the United States. They are, after all, centered in important spaces that are used every single day in the majority of households throughout the country.
Once you have decided to conduct a kitchen remodel, for instance, you’ll need to decide what aspects of your kitchen that you’ll be remodeling, if not the entirety of it. In up to three quarters of all kitchen remodel projects, the entire style of the kitchen will be changed, the whole scheme and feel of it. This might be done for a number of reasons.
For one, a kitchen remodel with the purpose of changing the design of the kitchen can help to update the look of an outdated kitchen in a home that is going up for sale. For home buyers, a new kitchen is a strong selling point, especially one that has recently undergone a kitchen remodel and has a number of new appliances and trendy stylistic elements. And while a kitchen remodel can be expensive on behalf of the original home owners, it is certainly an effective way to bring in a higher selling price for the home as a whole.
A kitchen remodel does not have to be quite this extensive however and many kitchen renovations are certainly not. Primarily when people decide to give their kitchen a kitchen remodel, they will decide to update their countertops (and this is the case for nearly 95% of all people who have embarked on a kitchen remodel in recent years). Most people will choose natural stone materials for their new kitchen countertops, with granite a top contender in many a kitchen, if not the final choice.
Aside from the typical kitchen remodel endeavor, bathroom remodeling projects are also incredibly common. As even just painting your bathroom blue can bring up to $5,000 extra in the final sale of your home, even small changes can have a big impact. But, like as in the case of many a kitchen remodel, many people conducting such a house remodeling project will choose to go the more extensive route and up to 90% of the people who are conducting a bathroom remodeling project will be changing the entire style of at least the master bathroom, if not other bathrooms (if there are any) throughout the home.
Shower renovations are particularly common in bathroom remodeling projects, as can be seen by the data that has been gathered on the subject. Research has found that showers will be updated in more than 85% of these remodeling projects, with 30% of those remodeling their showers choosing to increase the size of said shower quite considerable, typically by as much as 50% or even more. But bathroom remodeling endeavors often provide more than just an improved appearance or luxury element to the bathroom or bathrooms in question.
In many cases, bathroom remodeling projects will actually increase the overall safety of using the bathroom as well. For many an elderly person in particular, the bathroom can become a treacherous place as aging progresses. In fact, up to 80% of serious accidents in the home environment of an elderly person living independently can be attributed to a fall in the bathroom. Fortunately, there are a number of definable ways to mitigate this risk, such as installing handlebars strategically throughout the bathroom as well as in the shower itself and including safety measures like shower seats and emergency buttons to push if anything were to go wrong anyway.
